Any members thinking of getting into instrument flight? LIL instructor Clayton Prentice is starting a PIFR theory course at LIL in November.
“I can assure you having an instrument rating will change the way you fly for ever!” Clayton reckons. “The exam we are preparing for is the Private Instrument Rating (PIR). If you would like to undertake the IREX (IR) exam, then the course will be invaluable in getting you under way.
“With many of our pilots at Lilydale, finding the time to study for the PIR exam is the biggest barrier to obtaining the rating. To overcome this problem, I am running a course over one week in January, with your test already arranged for the Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Once the theory is out of the way, you can start your flying training whenever you are ready. I’d suggest you take the time to have a look at Lilydale’s new simulator. It has proven to be a fantastic tool to prepare students for their rating and at economical rates too!! There are a number of IFR instructors now at Lilydale, all with lots of experience; there has never been a better time to get your PIR completed.”
Clayton is suggesting the week-long course will start on either 4 or 11 January.
